With this weekend being the international break, many Premier League players had the chance to show their Premier League form and skills for their national team.
Many players got on the scoresheet in their respective games or managed to provide an assist for their teammates.
In Wales’ 4-1 loss to Spain, Sam Vokes scores their consolation goal with David Brooks setting him up. In Argentina’s 4-0 win over Iraq, Watford’s Roberto Pereyra found himself on the scoresheet.
Raul Jimenez and Gabriel Jesus each added 1 to their teams goal tally in their 3-2 and 2-0 wins over Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia respectively. West Ham’s front man Marko Arnoutovic helped Austria to a 1-0 win over Northern Ireland in the Nations League, while Man City’s Bernardo Silva also scored in Portugal’s 3-2 Nations League win against Poland.
Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson and Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira both provided assists for Iceland and Uruguay in their friendly matches both coming off of great performances for their clubs last weekend.
Romelu Lukaku continued his great form for Belgium by scoring a double against Switzerland, although he isn’t able to replicate that form for Man United at the moment. Finally, on form Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic also got a brace in Serbia’s win over Montenegro.
