Monaco have signed former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry as head coach until June 2021
The red and whites signed the former Arsenal man on Saturday as a replacement for the Portuguese Leonardo Jardim who was sacked by the club.
The French club signed Henry with the club 18th in the Ligue 1 table with just 6 points and 1 win from 9 games. So the Frenchman looks like he has a big task ahead of him.
This means that Henry had to leave his post as the assistant to Roberto Martinez at the Belgium national team. He thanked the Belgium team for a wonderful 2 years and he wished them well in the future.
Henry was part of the Arsenal team that went unbeaten in the 2003/04 season and then went on to become known as the ‘Invincibles.’ Henry was a big part of this by scoring 30 goals in 38 games.
The Frenchman started his career and made his professional debut with Monaco and helped them to win the league title in 1997.
It seems he is relishing the challenge by saying: "It seems like fate that I will begin my managerial career here," said Henry, who is Arsenal's record goalscorer.
Will he be able to turn the fortune of this struggling Monaco team around?
