The growth of New York native Hip Hop female superstar Cardi B has been a remarkable one in 2017. From a stripper turned reality star who is recognised for her appearance in Love & Hip Hop: New York. One of the biggest Hip Hop hits of the summer is the achievement of Cardi B smash hit Bodak Yellow produced by J. White which came out in June. As this is Cardi’s major label debut for Atlantic records in the US it has racked up 7.9 million SoundCloud plays, million and 56 million YouTube views and counting. Cardi B debut entry into the Billboard hot 100 with Bodak Yellow has made her the first female rapper since Nicki Minaj Anaconda to reached the No. 8 spot. The track makes her the first female rapper to reach the top 10 with a debut entry since Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy in 2014 which is an incredible achievement in itself . With Endorsements from the likes Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliot, Drake, The Game & Idris Elba it’s absurd not to avoid the record which consists of a memorable hook and a banging beat with some unfiltered lyrics to it. With Cardi bringing her energy a to the smash hit which recalls early Lil' Kim. It has spiraled into one of the smash of the year in the US and the record is about to be a success in the UK with some of the most influential UK Hip Hop DJs from Charlie sloth, Tim Westwood & Semtex who have been playing the record on their various shows predicting Cardi B as the next huge female rapper to look out for and confirming Bodak Yellow as the Hip Hop anthem which will be a smash on UK urban radio and make Cardi B famous rapper who's name you will never forget name even if you haven’t heard her before. Cardi has turned the non believers in to followers. With her skill for rapping and putting put out catchy songs, it’s clear to see why she is now the new face of female rap in the US.
