The court heard how between 2015 and 2016 Tyree conned investor Churchside Estates Ltd out of £133,481 before swindling Corporate Commercial Collections Ltd out of £187,159. Christopher Grunsell, director of Churchside Estates, told the court: “I was left out of pocket and I have not seen a penny back. I and my wife had thought that she was a hard-working, industrious businesswoman.

She came to my house, I interviewed her, I took them [the fake invoices] to be genuine customer orders. She presented herself as a millionaire and presented papers to support that.”

Detective Constable Stewart Walker, who led a City of London Police investigation, told the jury that several transactions from Tyree’s accounts were made during the fraud, including thousands of pounds on shopping in Las Vegas and international hotel stays. The court heard Tyree did make one order for 14 handbags to be manufactured for £2,897.31.
