Human kindness on another level
An exhausted mother who was walking up to 30 miles a day to and from work has been able to buy a car after donations from kind strangers.
To support her family, mum-of-five Jamie Lambert had been walking 15 miles each day to her job in Plainwell, Michigan, where she worked for 10 hours before walking the same route home. Ms Lambert, 44, from Portage, had to start her journey at 1.30am to make it to work at a processing plant in time for 6am.
However, on August 24, one woman driving by offered Ms Lambert a lift when she looked like she was “really struggling” and then decided to drive Ms Lambert to work for the next three weeks. Dawn Liston DeLuca, 40, from Kalamazoo, also launched a fundraising page and just one month later well-wishers had raised enough money to buy the mum-of-five a car of her own.
